Was a time we did group covers

Post by vvv » Sat Feb 29, 2020 6:48 pm

...anyone remember?

I recall, for instance, a buncha us doing Low songs, and Tom Waits songs.

Any interest in picking an artist and doing some?

I, or someone, could post (perhaps with bastardized names and a disclaimer) on bandcamp, for free downloading ...

I did one once... might be open to some more. Especially with this damn shutdown.

Let's make it suck bigtime. ;)

I did David Bowie, so he's out of the running.

Try someone really sappy, maybe some C&W from the 1970s. And mess it up something good.

That might be the only decent song that guy ever did, IMO.

I say "might" because I can't stand his schtick, and go out of my way to change the radio station when he comes on, not that I listen to any that he is on, by choice.

I probably have 2K CDs or more - none by him.

But are we talkin' collabin' on 1 song, or doin' indiv songs by one artist?

I thought the latter?

I recall we did Waits: I did "30.06".

I'm having great luck using dropbox and google drive, recording by file-sharing.

That's one option.

I started this thinking about just doing like we did with Waits before - I think we also did Low? - where participants pick a song and have at it.

No reason those songs could not be collaborations.

So, what sez ya's?

A bunch of Hags, or Black Flag? Cash or the Clash?
