sounds pretty good!
Re: So I demo'ed a band ...
Thanx!
Some notes I made for a friend:
Drums bass and scratch vocal and guitar were recorded in the singer's basement. There are photos on the bandcamp individual song pages.
The drums was 4 mics: Senn 609(?) on the kick, a ' 57 on the snare, and Studio Projects C4's for OH's in a 90 degree toe-in position.
Scratch voc was a Beta58, with a EV 609 on the Fender tube guitar amp (a BluesJr.)which is the low rhythm track or the sole tracks on the songs.
The bass was a 80's Musicman Stingray, recorded DI through a One Control Silver peg pedal.
Overdubs were done at my house.
Guitars (she plays a G&L Comanche) were OD'd thru my ProJr with my pedal board - the bassist played his leads (my Mascis Jizzmaster) through his Princeton.
OD vox were through a MXL Genesis or a Sterling Oceanway.
We did 3 sessions (4-6 hours each) of overdubs - I think two of the scratch lead vocals were kept - there was a lot of experimenting with BV arrangements, multiple guitar parts, also, for that matter. I edited down the guitar parts to just have one or two mains, with layered choruses, altho' tingles was like 8 tracks edited down to 2 leads and 2 rhythms.
Two bass tracks were replaced with the same chain except using my Sterling Ray.
Mixed as we went along, and then did a four hour final mix/master session.

The band plays well and her voice is cool. Good job!
Howling at the neighbors. Hoping they have more mic cables.

Interesting Band and Singer - they all seem to compete with who can play furthest behind the beat.
