Input Sensitivity switches for Neve 1272 mic pre conversions

Post by soundguy » Tue Nov 01, 2005 11:04 am

I recently put together a swtich for proper gain staging in a 1272 for using as a mic pre also allows for a line input, some other options available, please see my website for complete details and wiring instructions:

http://www.glideonfade.com/electronics.htm

There are few if any commercially available 1272 style pre's that offer gain staging per neve spec, this switch gets you there %100. Switches are $85 each and come with all off board components for complete installation. Each will fit inside a stock 1272 with no problem. Here's a quick photo:

Ive been using these for a while now, for my dollar, its an ideal solution.

no, the seventh circle N72 has its own integrated gain switching program going on. I suppose you COULD us this with that kit, but it sorta defeats to purpose of that kit to stick something like this in there. I built this for installing in existing 1272's or using for building DIY amps from 283AV amplifiers.
