What components exactly bit it?

Say, what condition is the top plate above the vu meters in. I know yours had some ups issues, but thought I'd ask.

What are you recording with nowadays?

it's in good shape, but i noticed mine doesn't have any vents on it.

i had a hybrid studio going, so now i'm just running straight to the computer. it's okay. i'm working faster now, cause i'm not just sitting there being completely mesmerized by the vu's and the spinning reels. and i have a pioneer rt-707 that i run stuff through if it's too bright or digital sounding.

Sorry to hear that, dude. I've only tracked projects with the 388 as a "7 track," since channel 8 had long since crapped out. Hopefully you'll get back in the 388 game soon!
