So sad...
I can't believe that I was too late for this.
Would have been a nice Christmas present to myself.

If it makes you feel better, it might have been BS. There was a listing on the Nashville craigslist of some guy selling an AC30, Marshall stack and a Fender tube amp for $20 a piece because they were his girlfriends and they just got divorce and he wanted to screw her...I highly doubt that was legit.
Still waiting for a Luna reunion

I've got a roomful of pawnshop deals, but the latest was an ok one I think. Trident S20 for $350. I'll take that deal all day long.

The only true great mic on this planet is the Shure SM-57. It is the most consistant in not totally sucking of anything ever built. All other mics are "application dependant".

I guess I can't be too sad. I got my 200a at a pawn shop for $159 a couple years back.

I scored a 421 for $25 bucks from the store I used to work at (I had to get a new clip for it which ended up costing more than the mic!).

i've had my share of pawnshop prizes.
My faves are the K istanbul 20" and pair of K istanbul hats for $140 total. That was a good day.
Also the rare Blue Ripple Pearl Slingerland solid-maple shell Artist model (1 ply) for $65.
There have been more but those are my favorites! Lots of other things I got and flipped for several hundred or more profit, but those I kept!

Not that I'm 'one-upping' you on that, but a friend of mine scored a pair of AKG C60 tube mics, the vintage predecessor to the 451 for $50. Officially a good deal. This guy has a knack for running across deals like this. Most recently a pair of Altec Lipstik M20 mics for $50 at an antique radio show.shakestheclown wrote:I scored a akg 451e for $20 in the hock shop...
I love when that happens.
When thinking about this, I'm sorta and definitely sorta but a part of me is also
Some day I too will score such a deal!
