Joe Meek VC2

Post by theycallmeJive » Sat Feb 07, 2009 12:06 pm

i'm thinking about selling mine. . .

can i get some input on what one of these is worth these days?
it's in excellent condition still.

i do a LOT of hip-hop in my studio, so i'm going for a more inyourface type sound. i'm looking to replace the VC2 with a Great River ME-1NV

any input on about how much i can expect to get?
i will consider any offers as well, if this sparks any interest.

according to PrePal (http://prepal.com/data/JoeMeek.htm) the going rate is about $341 these days.

If I didn't already have 2 of them (and a VC2) I would be interested...but alas...I'm good on the Meeks.

Good luck, though.

yeah, i've never seen that site before. someone else brought it to my attention. it's a great tool.

mine IS the VC2 though, says its about $636. . . nowhere near enough for a great river though, guess i'll have to keep saving.

Prepal's database is more than borked. Their pricing is totally broken. They left it alone without updating it for several years and that so skewed the numbers, that you just can't trust for more than the vaguest of estimates that could be totally off. I wouldn't rely on those numbers at all. Though $500 to $800 is probably what you can expect to get for the original VC2.

i wish i would get more accurate feedback about my VC2 instead of the SC2.
maybe i'll just put it on ebay with a reserve of $700 or higher, and see where it goes.

i need to get within a few hundred of the Great River, otherwise it's not worth it at all for me.

Sorry, I was referring to the VC2 but typed SC2.
