WTB: inline pads (10db, 20db, etc.)

Post by Grahambo! » Thu Jun 18, 2009 7:28 am

Need some inline pads. Don't want to spend a lot of money on new ones, and I have no clue how to make my own.
Looking for whatever anyone has. 10db, 20db, anything.

easy to build. The site below is generally the one people whip out for such work:

I don't know if you saw the ones we have at our place when you were there with Graeme, but that site above was our resource for construction...
I thought this club was for musicians. Who let the drummer in here??

Yeah I saw those at Clava. That's actually what I was thinking of in terms of "building my own." They were neat lil' buggers.

Many thanks for the link. I'll check it out now.

Those 20dB pads listed in that link (thank you thank you thank you!) look really simply to build. So simple, in fact, that I am going to order up the parts to put together another four pads. I have four of the Shure pads and though I picked them up for under $100 a few years back, I am certain that these pads will cost under $25 each to make. The most expensive part is the barrel. 20dB is pretty standard, and I'm certain that I usually use that setting on the Shures religiously for the Sytek.

I have a few switchable shure's, but here is what I mainly use:
