Post by Derrick » Sat Oct 24, 2009 12:35 am

Can anyone please please please help me out with a cannon conector (or whatever the connector is called) for my EV666 micropnone? I really want to use my mic but I cannot find the connector anywhere. Someone MUST have one they can sell me?!?!

Thanks :^:

Is this what you're looking for?

That's what's used on a lot of old ev's, but I've never had a 666, so I can't say for sure. They're easy enough to build, but if you're not up for that I might have an extra one that I built myself. If you're interested, pm me.

Tom

(EDIT: I just noticed the price on those--they used to be 8 bucks or so! I could sell you a short adapter cable for less than the price of the connector.)

Sorry Tom, but that's not it (thank you for the offer though!). It looks like a standard XLR, but with a somewhat flattened side like this one:

Notice the "D" shape to it sitting next to the "round" shape of the black XLR. You can also see the "D" shape in the bottom of the mic itself.

Here is just the plug:

I may have one of those in a box of parts somewhere. I'll take a look.

EDIT: I have two male connectors, but no female. Sorry.

Some of the older XLR ends (cannon I believe) have a rubber insert around the pins which squishes just enough to be used with a 666.
This is what I use and, while less than ideal, it gets the job done.

(Having said that...if there are two of them kicking around out there I wouldn't mind getting the right end myself)

Any chance of taking a dremel to a standard XLR?
