FS: Metric Halo 2882 2d Expanded units FOR SALE, ONE OR BOTH

Post by tmarkov1 » Thu Jan 28, 2010 12:52 am

I have available 2 Metric Halo 2882 2d Expanded units for sale. I have been using these units for a good deal of time and the thought of selling them like this brings a tear to my eye, but alas, I partnered with another studio and I have so much I/O that exists already, I just need to part with one, or both. The 2 units are in immaculate condition. These have been great on the road doing live remotes and have been working fantasically in the studio for the past year or more. I want to be clear that these units are MINT. The cases are even in excellent shape. Anyone who knows about Metric Halo's flagship Mobile I/O 2882, my hope is that are looking to acquire one of these astute audio peripherals.

I am selling each unit for $1300, or if someone wants both units, I will make it an even $2500; plus shipping and packaging costs. If you want a better deal, just ask. Nuff said. I am very fair about the shipping/packaging costs. I only charge what UPS will charge me to pack and ship these to insure the unit's safety in transit.

As far as the sale? I like to be secure with online transactions. Any interested parties may contact me at tmarkov1@gmail.com. To ensure a safe and secure transaction, I can set up a private auction / buy it now sale on eBay so that PayPal may be used as well as eBay safety guarantees can be used. Shipping will be handled through UPS (for CONTINENTAL US ONLY). 100% of shipping costs will be buyers responsibility (Approx $30/unit or $50 for lot)

The units are 2d Expanded. There is no DSP license included but the DSP license may be purchased from MHLabs for $699. The units will be sold as the MIO 2882, Rack Ears, and Power Supply only. You know where to get the software! If you dont you can get the MIO Console and the newest firmware updates at www.mhlabs.com

EDIT ---

PRICE DROP - LAST UNIT
$1200 + $25 shipping

Thanks for any interest!

I'm looking for a 8 channel AD/DA converter with ADAT to use as an add on to my 003r. I was looking at a Lynx Aurora 8 or an Apogee Rosetta, and I wonder how it's conversion compares to those units. I've heard good things, but never purely as a ad/da convertor.

Have you, or anyone used one of these as a slave device just for conversion?

And is the DSP even usuable in Pro Tools?

I can't speak to your dsp questions, but I can tell you that the conversion in the MH is top notch.

I'm guessing that it may require the firewire to be connected and used as the primary interface, but I can't find much info that aspect. I may have to email Metric Halo.

It's all good. Yeah the MH2882 can be used as a AD/DA by utilizing the adat optical ports. You will need to run 2 optical cables for the in and out channels. There are 8 microphone preamps and 8 analog outputs. So when you need them, you can assign (via your current software and hardware) various output bussing through the ADAT outputs.

I have never used the ADDAs you question about. But the MHlabs team has extensive technical data available for the 2882.

I used the 2882s as ADs with the Digi002 rack and with the correct config, its all good. The DSP is client-independent. You run the DSP control software alongside the DAW software you choose. It will not act as a digidesign interface but will work with most all DAW software available today.
