Some of us really need to sell things, and don't need to be pushed down the page by abbey road group buy jokes...

+1

I'm all for humor but if you are trying to be funny, don't be redundant, because then its not clever or funny, its just spam. Believe me, the first time I saw that Abbey Road was for sale was enough notice for me, its stupid to have 80 other people that find it necessary to repost this without bothering to check that someone else got there first.

Sorry about that...I did a search but I didn't see anything??
I thought it was worth mentioning.

Seriously though... I thought your offer to sell 2 At 4050s for $1100 was a bigger joke thread....good luck with that:)

(edited: misunderstood what you meant about other threads) And please, by all means, tell me how much 4050s are worth to you if a starting price of 550 each is a joke.

I would say thanks for the tip, I didn't think to check b&h, but you had to be sarcastic about it, so i won't. I paid close to 6 at BSW a couple years ago.

They seem to go for between $325 to $375 if you check what they've gone for on eBay. I think AT dropped the retail price on these things a year ago or so, so you can get new ones around $475.

wow, that sucks. when i checked ebay last they seemed to be holding around 500 for new ones... i'm selling them rather grudgingly as well. anyway, dropped the price. probably drop it again tomorrow...

That's not true, the price has actually gone up. AT just had a price increase

What's not true? Seems to me that it's true that Sweetwater is charging $120 more than most other vendors for this mic.

Some dealers do not care about the "minimum advertised price" section of their dealer agreements. Some do.
The truth of a proposition has nothing to do with its credibility. And vice versa.

Yeah, sorry I'm referring to the fact that you can get them for under $499 new on eBay from various dealers all the time. Not from every dealer, but you can find them for that at any time on eBay. Just do a search on eBay for at 4050 and you'll see 3 sellers currently selling new 4050's for $485 shipped. There are a few more selling them for $490 - $499, and then a few more selling them for $599. I don't see anyone selling them new for more than that.

Heck, you can get them from B&H for $479.99 right now.

I'm not sure why there's such a huge discrepancy, but they've been going down in price slowly but surely for the last couple years, even if AT raised the price. And B&H is a huge retailer, so I'm not sure how they are getting away with it if they're not supposed to be charging that.
