This may be a long shot, but since Tape Op folks are pretty resourceful people I thought I'd give it a try.
Does anyone have or know where I can get a hold of steel-clad XLR (3-pin) microphone cable?
I can only find rubber armored mic cables or bulk armored cable spools for electricians.
It is smoother than ribbed BX type cable, more akin to flexible, steel, payphone handset cable.
Samson Audio told me they stopped making their "Armoured Cable" six years ago. That's all I know.
If I can find the materials, I'll try and make it myself, but if you happen to have this, tell me what you'd like for them.
While XLR is all that I'm looking for, they also made 1/4" instrument cable in the same series...also discontinued, but still pretty interesting.
