ISO replacement clips for km184

Post by dix » Thu Dec 22, 2011 6:09 pm

[cross-posting in gear talk]

(I think) I've found a good deal on a pair of Neumann km184s. Problem is they have no mounting clips. Google is not providing a resource to buy replacement clips. There's a few universal and other options that will work, but for resale value I'd like to original Neumann clips. Anyone know where I could find these? Thanks!

Solution:
1. Talk the owner down for not having clips.
2. Buy the mics and universal clips.
3. Keep your eyes open for km184 or km84 clips while you're using them.
4. Enjoy the great mics.
I love you.

I love you too airloom. Actually I have a pair of Oktava mk-12s. Those clips should work in the meanwhile. Thx!

Just about any flexible mic clip will work with km184's it would be a waste of $75 to buy them from Neumann.

I never use the factory clips... Not nearly as secure as aftermarket, or the flexible peavey clips that seem to live both happily and snugly around my km184's.

Audix D-Clip works perfectly and can be purchased for $9.95 each.

Thanks for the responses! I realized after I got the km184s that I already have lots of clips that will work - AKG SA60 clips for example. It's mainly for the resale that the real clips'd be relevant.

?but hey. the km184s case was missing the clips, but does have the windscreens and then these little black plastic things. they look like some sort of adapter for the factory clips maybe? what're are those things for?

Those are alternate parts for the standard clips, meant to fit over the XLR instead of the mic body.

With this that you state, just buy the factory clips.

Cheers

Then buy the Neumann clips when, and if, you're going to sell them. :^:
