3M M79 2" inch 24 track w/ many Extras $750 OBO

Post by siberiaguy » Mon Feb 06, 2012 2:46 am

FS: 3M M79 2"inch 24 Track

I am located in Las Vegas, NV and local pickup will need to be arranged.
I can not ship.

Info:

3M M79 comes with Selectake II remote
It has been over one year since I fired up the machine and recorded anything with it.
At that time was in working condition and all 24 channels did record & play back audio. As with any analog recorder of this age it needs to be tweaked & calibrated. I am not a technician so I cannot give you a specific report of it's exact condition.

I am including lots of extra parts for the recorder which came from a spare parts machine. There are many I/O extra cards, meters, power supply, etc.

I have some used reels of 2" inch tape and some misc used rolls of 1" & 1/2" tape I will include.

If you are seriously interested & can come to Las Vegas to pick up the gear
contact me and I can answer any & all questions regarding the equipment.

Please, no window shoppers, serious inquiries only!
If you have a love & passion for old analog gear and you know what is involved with using & maintaining vintage equipment and are prepared to commit to it

Thank you

You might want to check with the folks at GRS Pro Audio. They're about a 4 hour drive away from you and they refurb and sell M-79 machines.

Too bad you are far away. I'm about to the point that I could stand the thought of a 2" M-79 transport here.

Cheers,

The guys at GRS are absolutely fantastic to deal with! Not only do they know what they're doing, their service ethic is second to none. I had them do some work on the Selectake & upgrade some of the cards as well.

Unfortunately I no longer have my own studio or space in my small condo for this recorder.. That's why I'm parting with my large equipment.
