SOLD
Hi,
I just updated my Macs' memory, so I am no longer needing this RAM.
Basically, the RAM needed to be "all the exact f$%^ing same" so I also had to go and buy more, to replace these which no longer work in my system with this new RAM. In other words, this sucks.
They are as follows:
SET ONE:
2 GB in two 1GB sticks, which are the original memory that came with the Mac.
These say :
NANYA nt1gt72u8pb9bd-2c 0826.tw
1gr.2rx8.pc2-6400f-555-11-b2.800.ecc
And must be installed together, so they are sold together.
THE OTHER SET IS:
4 GB in two 2GB sticks, which I had bought later to upgrade.
These say:
Patriot Memory
PSA24G800EFBK
4GB PC2-6400 ECC FBD
(2X2GB KIT)
PS000600
And must be installed together, so they are sold together.
BOTH THESE SETS worked together on my computer. They just don't play nice with the new RAM, for whatever Goddamn reason.
ALL the RAM is the following type:
Type:DDR2 FB-DIMM
Speed : 800 MHz
ECC: Enabled
For a 2008 Mac Pro :
Model Name: Mac Pro
Model Identifier: MacPro3,1
Processor Name: Quad-Core Intel Xeon
Processor Speed: 2.8 GHz
Number Of Processors: 2
Total Number Of Cores: 8
L2 Cache (per processor): 12 MB
Memory: 8 GB
Bus Speed: 1.6 GHz
Boot ROM Version: MP31.006C.B05
SMC Version (system): 1.25f4
Serial Number (system): XXXXXXXXXXXX
Hardware UUID: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Price : Make me an offer I cannot refuse. Basically this RAM is garbage to me now, so one man's garbage is now your treasure.
Cheers

Howling at the neighbors. Hoping they have more mic cables.
Hey Nick -
I've got the exact same computer and have been debating a memory increase as I've only got 6GB now and recently updated to 10.7.
I wonder if these sticks would be compatible with my system? I've got the 2 stock 1GB modules, plus a pair of 2GB sticks that I got from OWS around the time I bought them.
Which company did you use to get the new RAM? What kind of issues were you having that told you your RAM was all messed up?
Thanks
J

Hi jmele,
The issue was that when I just bought new RAM, since it was from a different mfr, the new RAM gets seen, the old one does not.
It simply juts does not play well together.
I am not a Mac guru, but I do think this stinks.
You would think all RAM that works on one computer can be of different mfrs as long as you match the pairs. But noooooooooo.... it don't work like a guitar amp.
Cheers
