FS: Studer A800 MKIII 24 track machine

Post by weirdharmonic » Sun Sep 23, 2012 3:34 pm

I am selling my rare Studer A800 24 Track machine with remote. 11,274 hours. This powers up and pulls tape and all record / playback functions work.

The following tech work has been done this year:
Rebuilt 3 Power supply units's
Replaced brake pads, springs, solenoid arm
Recapped transport and command cards

This is an insanely massive tape machine and It is located on the west side of Chicago.

I am selling this as a working tape machine, however it is being sold As-Is due to age. I offer no warranty or guarantee that it will work forever without regular tech work. I can send a current, dated video of it working.

It comes with the remote and all remote cabling. No MRL (the one that I used belonged to the studio where I was keeping this, and they sold it).
No current head report. I can give the info that the previous owner gave me about the heads when I bought this last year.

asking 4,500 obo

Also,

open to trades for cool small stuff (original U87's, U67's, LA2A's, 1176 (originals)'s, etc.) I'm basically going mobile.
