i think i've decided that i really don't use an 1176 all that much... just in general.

here's a diy/gyraf schematic 1176 that I picked up from fellow TOMB member (and former amazing chicago studio operator 'djimbe') a half a year's back.

as i mentioned with selling that B&O... shifting things around to what I really use...

sounds and works great - just not my cup of tea. i seem to never really need such heavy compression... i even dial vocals in at 2:1 most of the time!

i think i got it for $450 shipped. it's totally worth it. the lundahl sounds great on the output.

i'll pass it on for the same price - $450 shipped in the US.

(comes with complete build paperwork, parts lists, notes, schematics in a folder by the original builder...)

smiles!

I've his other, I think.

I love the damn thing on vocals - it's actually pretty flexible and the iron is great - and just discovered what a awesome bass DI/pre it makes.

Highly reco'd.

just want to confirm for the board that, yes, I did build the 1176 clone on offer here (along with the one vvv has), and we did use them both for years at Clava Studio. Loved them, and so did the freelancers that worked our space.

Glad they are finding new owners and getting used, 'cause I don't build things to sit around gathering dust...
I thought this club was for musicians. Who let the drummer in here??
