Get some acoustic paneling up in your room!
Free in Portland, OR, OC 703 style fiberglass panels:
(3) 2' x 4' panels
(1) 4' x 8' panel
The big panel is duct board, and has black fabric bonded to one side, and bare fiberglass on the other. (Looks like this: http://www2.owenscorning.com/around/sou ... tliner.jpg )
The smaller panels have paper/foil bonded to the backsides, and I covered the rest of them in a coarse weave blue muslin. The muslin is looking a little worn these days, so you could re-cover them, or just leave them as-is if you don't mind their looks.
I can even drop all these off at your place, if you live in Portland, OR.
