Hope everybody had a great Christmas. I'm finishing up my last MCI machines that I'm going to be restoring. My engineering job in Nashville is more of my commitment in life and I am having less and less time for tape machine and repair work.
These are really nice machines with some really great upgrades and work done to them. I've had a great history of sales and refurbs so please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. Both machines are located in Nashville, TN.
MCI 24trk 1978-1980 era "Quior" machine. This one has had the transformers removed, but has daughterboards installed with a buffered chip input and output. The mod is the correct way to remove the transformers. This opens the machine up and has a much better handling of transients. Very punchy and quick. It still has the head loading transformers. This has the audio cards, transport cards and power supplies recapped.
Heads have been checked and re-lapped by JRF and they are at 65%. Fully cleaned, checked and aligned for 15 and 30ips on desired tape of new owner. Comes with the AL3 locator and the smaller desk stand, take-up reel, manual, and 2" edit block.
All of the modifications and recapping were not done by me, but the work is very excellent.
Final alignment with Randy Blevins and myself.
$6000
These are really good prices if you compare to other machines. I would just like it to go to a good home.
Thanks and feel free to get in touch.
