Tascam MX2424 plus accessories $700.00 +SH

Post by Nick Sevilla » Fri Nov 24, 2017 8:20 pm

PRICE LOWERED!!!

Hi Guys,

I am selling off my used Tascam MX2424, with accessories. Asking $700.00 USD plus shipping + insurance.

Pretty much done recording live, so this can go to another good engineer.

This includes:

Tascam MX2424 Recorder.
24 channel Analog Input Card.
24 channel Analog Output Card.
Remote control.
Remote control cable.
2 hard disks in their corresponding caddies. I'll have to look to see what size they are, they are different sizes.
2 keys for the hard disk caddies.
Full Manual!!!

I can also include, in a disk. for PC only, their MX Software, is asked for.
You can still download it from Tascam, it may be a pain in the butt to do so.

I will post pictures of it tomorrow. Minor rack rash, nothing out of place or broken, all buttons seem to work both on the unit and the remote. I tested it a couple of weeks ago, and it al works fine. Will test again this week, if there is interest.

Cheers!!!

After checking my stuff out,

I will INCLUDE the cables for this rig.

They are Tascam DB25 to 1/4" TRS, and are six (6) of them.

Shipping, of course, will be more with these.

Cheers

Just throwing in 2¢ to say that — yeah... these machines may be old, but they are rock solid. + that MX Software worked great for Mac. If you have an old OS9 capable laptop or desktop, you can connect to the MX-2424 directly via ethernet and it works as a DAW editor UI. Before I got him onto Nuendo, and then Logic... Bobby McFerrin had the MX-2424 in his home studio for years. I think we sold it to Aimee Mann's tour manager for some live recordings back in the early-mid 2000's.

Also, for those worried about SCSI hard drive availability... you can easily swap those out for SCSI2SD adapters and track things right to a super-fast SD card or SSD drive.

Wow, thanks Alex for the SCSI2SD info! I had no idea something like that existed. I too own a Tascam MX-2424 which I recently dug out of storage so I could use it as D/A converters for my newly acquired Ghost mixer (my attempt to get back into mixing analog after years of frustration mixing the other ways). The converters on the MX-2424 sound unique and are really musical sounding. It would be hard to make an annoying sounding record with this unit. Recently dealing with something of an existential crisis with my recording studio technology, I'm starting to think that a record I made on the MX-2424 in 2003 may possibly be my best sounding record. I recommend this unit.

Best,
Nicholas

Yes — the SCSI2SD stuff is very very cool. I've used it to throw a 64gb microSD card inside my EMU sampler, and it's loaded up with all of my old CD-ROM libraries now... makes calling them up much faster! (and less worrisome as drives tend to age / get flaky)
