you can buy all the equipment in the world but it won't write the music for you.

It is better this way. An off-site off-topic. I wish someone would have suggested this a year and a half ago. And that - if he had - his ideas would have not been shot down without consideration. Or that, once the new tape-op board came back online with his ideas in place, someone would have said, "Sorry, Phil (if that was his name). You were right: it was time to retire off-topic, and taking it off-site was a visionary idea. You are a friggin' genius, and quite handsome." That probably would have made him feel pretty okay.
