IE 6.0

http://messageboard.tapeop.com

brings up the debug screen, but if you click "login" at the top right, you go to

http://messageboard.tapeop.com/login.ph ... 8da4267040

which allows log in, and everything works from then on.

I'm still getting the debug screen on two different computers. I presume they're working on this...? It really does suck that spam has caused folks to resort to combat tactics. In classic fashion, the board is now whacked out of shape. Personally, I think the couple spam intrusions here and there were annoying but hardly compromised the board...more an aggravation on a philosophical/ethical basis. I guess it would have continued to get worse, but to employ measures that screw the board up on a fundamental level is hardly a good trade-off...IMHO. Seems like a 'cut your nose off to spite your face" kind of action. That aside, I'm sure the folks in command will be sorting it out.

I can get on with IE 7 after re-logging on; in Firefox I am getting the following message:
Bad Request

Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand.
Size of a request header field exceeds server limit.

Cookie: phpbb2mysql___u=a.... [then a big long string of gobbledy-gook]
Apache/2.0.54 (Unix) mod_perl/1.99_09 Perl/v5.8.0 mod_ssl/2.0.54 OpenSSL/0.9.7d DAV/2 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 PHP/4.4.0 mod_gzip/2.0.26.1a Server at swan.he.net Port 80
I'm on an XP SP2 box.

Good luck with this, and Merry Christmas!!

Oh, I thought everyone was having this problem.. One day it disappeared, but right now it reappeared, abd it's giving me this when trying to view the thread list in any of the forums, or the forums list:

Could not obtain post information

DEBUG MODE

SQL Error : 1064 You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '' at line 3

SELECT DISTINCT topic_id FROM phpbb2_posts WHERE topic_id IN (27896) AND poster_id =

Line : 194
File : functions_topics_list.ph

However, I am able to open threads, avatars now work, and I can search. That's what I've been doing lately, actually - I would just search for threads I need :). Maybe you should implement this error for anti-newbie protection or something.

It seems like an error in one of the global PHP functions, hence I thought that everyone was having the issue.

I finally got this problem fixed with Firefox by deleting all the cookies from this site.

Is that why my new "donkeyporn666cellphonedeals!" name was rejected?

Okay, I will stick with my name...

Getting the same error with Firefox here too. Deleting cookies doesn't seem to be doing it for me.

if you manually delete a cookie for messageboard.tapeop.com, that should fix it.
if it doesn't try a different browser. if a different browser works, then it's a problem with your main browser. if a different browser doesn't work, then email me (hillary [at] tapeop [dot] com) and we'll help you sort it out.
