Spell check feature- yay!

Post by kayagum » Sun Jan 14, 2007 5:45 am

I don't know if y'all have noticed, but the board seems to have a spell checker feature. Every misspelled or unknown word gets a red dashed underline while you're typing.

Take advantage of this! I'm hoping this feature will clean up some of the bad / drunk / dyslexic typing on this board.

Hillary- if you were the one who got this feature installed, kudos and thanks!

it must have been part of the upgraded version of the board. but i'm thinking it was there before. it's really nice and subtle, isn't it? unlike MS word or something.

No buttons... suspicious words are underlined as you type....

I've actually noticed a 'built-in' spell check on all forums I frequent and in my email app as well. I'm thinking it's just included with the latest update of Firefox/Thunderbird but I may be wrong. It is quite handy. Now if there were only a logic checker...

Hmmmmm. I'm still using Internet Exploder and I don't see any spell checking. I need it though. it took me about 15 minutes to type and proofread this. :?

it's FireFox 2.x, not a feature of the site.

2.x has issues with certain extensions that make it all crashy.

methinks i may roll back to 1.5.x til it's sorted out.

It's sure working for me. I think it's a Firefox thing.

I sure like that IE 7 with all the bright colors and blinking lights. Real purdy.

Hillary, I'm just kidding. I installed it once, out of perverse curiosity, and I had it uninstalled again within fifteen minutes. Sorry to upset your sensibilities.

LOL, take browser advice from someone who dont even know where a feature came from! The browser or the webserver.

Crack me up, I have developed apps for both, give me IE anyday.

(Just jerkin your colective chains, Im not too happy with 7)

it's a native ff2 feature. I had no idea how shitty my spelling was.

IE is gross. I have a bald spot I completely blame on developing for IE.
