Geez....I don't think so. I think you'll have to offer FLAC versions as well for PC users.

Wait....doesn't iTunes play Mpeg4's on PC and Mac?

mpeg4s ain't the same as apple lossless (m4a). my older pc converted the m4as to mpeg4 and it sounded horrible... weird volume fluctuations and other artifacts. thanks again though.

Ohh...yeah....very true. I though for some reason you were offering a lossless version and an mp3 version. But heck, glad to know it works.

I am extremely happy with the Apple Lossless format. With hard drive space being so cheap these days, there is no reason to not have everything that you import archived in this format.

Have an iPod with a small drive? Want to get AAC version of your Apple Lossless files over to the iPod, but don't want to keep the AAC files in your iTunes library?

Sorry for the off-topic Lossless rant.

http://www.poikosoft.com/ supports converting to and from apple lossless.

I'm personally a FLAC fan for internet distribution, there's converters (and straight players) available for every modern platform.

You probably all know this already, but for all these formats the end user has to have the proper codec installed. You might want to go with one that comes standard in XP/Vista/popular players, etc. So you don't get emails saying "I don't hear anything," or "I get an ugly error message." Or, worse, people not hearing anything and just walking away while never telling you about it.

Why apple lossless when FLAC is available? It doesn't make sense. FLAC Is open and easy to play everywhere. Lots of cowon & rio players support it too.

Honestly, I agree. Use FLAC. It's universal, and the end user can decide to convert to WAV, add to iTunes, and then convert to whatever.
