Pricing for tape gear

Post by craigdp » Thu Jul 01, 2004 5:28 pm

I have a friend (yes it's true) who may be interested in selling his Otari MX-70 1", 16-channel tape gear, excellent condition with calibration tapes, etc, etc. Right now he wants an idea of what it's worth to see if it makes sense to sell it.
I (and he) would appreciate good information on this matter.

Thanks,

depends of course on condition, head life, authenticity of maintenance and previous care, but assuming all is tidy, about 1,800-2,400$ as a guestimate.

Well, he can try to get over $2k, but recently these machines have been going for more like $1k, unless they were unused (yes, there was one recently). Just being realistic.
