He was making them out of PlayStation joysticks, allegedly, but he was full of shit. He was trying to tell me that my remote jack was a SMPTE jack, even though it said "remote" right above the jack, and told me that I wasn't looking in the right place. Fuhgeddaboudit. I'm still looking, too, if anyone has a source.

I have a remote for a 5050, but I am not sure which model it works on. I got suckered on ebay. Shit! I should have checked that it worked with my machine.

pm me with an email address and I will send you a pic of the plug

Ive made quite a few out of nintendo controllers. The original one I built
for myself has lasted about 3 years without a single problem.
Different models have different connectors.
MkIII-8 has a 50 pin connector marked "locator" i think.
Other models have a 12 pin cinch connector usually marked "remote".
Both can be done.
Cost break down:

Cable $5
Nintendo remote aprox. $5
connector
cinch $5
50 pin $20
labor $40

As you can see mkII-8 require a more exspensive connector.
And the $40 labor is the cheapest i can go to make it worth my while.
If anybody is interested: Auraflux@msn.com

T.J.

Gigglesnort was not the original gangsta I was talkin' to. It DOES seem like a good idea, though!
