For Trade: Oktava MK-319

Post by blunderfonics » Tue Feb 01, 2005 9:06 am

I have 2 of these and rarely ever use them as a pair so I'd like to trade one for another mic. I'm looking for something different from your regular cardioid but will consider just about anything of similar value as long as it's a flavor I don't already have. Whatcha got?

... that's a tough one, cuz "similar value" is fifty or sixty bucks. i have one, and really like it, and it only cost me $49.99 new. i would like another one, but i'm not sure what i could trade you for it... an sm57 costs more that the mk319 does. as i said before, i think they are really good mics for certain applications, and if you give me a little more guidance as to what you might be looking for, i could probably find something to trade.
thanks

I'm just looking for something new and different: weirdo old mics, PZM's, mics with patterns other than cardioid, el cheapo chinese condensers (especially small diaphram). I'm pretty wide open but I do have plenty of 57's.

I'm not so terribly worried about getting the maximum return on my investment, otherwise I would throw it up on craigslist or e-bay. I just figured there'd be some other tape opper looking for a new flavor and something they have too many of.

PM me with a list of what you'd be willing to offer in trade for the 319 and we can talk about it. We'll either decide it's a fair trade or not.

I'd also be interested in a hypercardiod or omni capsule for a Oktava MK-012 if anyone wants to trade one of those for the 319

If anyone is looking for samples, or curious as to how it sounds you can go to: http://www.thelisteningsessions.com/session5.htm
It is on track 21.
compare it to other mics you were considering, or might have.?

just trying to be somewhat helpful

all the best

I've got a an Audiotechnica Kick/Tom mic it's on the right in the link below.
It sounds good on bass...and go figure toms. I don't really use it much
anymore. It's a good mic. How about that?
