Need: NYC | Fancy | Large | Good Ole' Amps | Pro Tools

Post by TapeOpHillary » Tue Jan 04, 2005 4:37 pm

i need to find a studio in NYC (preferably manhattan) for next week to do a bit of work. i don't know about the nicer unknown places so if you do, fill me in...

it's music for tv/commercial and there will be about 6 ad agency clients there so it has to be *nice* and *clean* and a little *fancy*. plus the control room has to be large enough to fit everyone comfortably.

i'll be recording guitar and bass and need the live room to be large as well. i'm looking to find a good selection of older amps (marshall, fender, vox, etc.) that all work.

they've got to have pro tools, preferably 6.x (running os x.3) HD...

there's not really a budget restriction, so i'm not looking for a deal, just the right place...

thoughts? thanks!

hit factory has been blowing impossibly stupid deals lately, might be worth a phone call if you have a friend that knows someone there.

Skyline Studios on 34th street. Neve VR 60, great amps, great live room, Protoold HD3 Accel w/G5 dual processor.

Chung King, magic shop, loho. Any of those would work.
Chung king has the best views out of the lounges, especially in the red room...
The custom VR's there work okay if you like Neve VR's/.
Magic shop and loho both have great consoles.
