Any advice is appreciated, mostly I'm looking for good results but price and professionalism also are factors, thanks.

check out Bionic Mastering

Indy, major label, and self-produced. I used them on my last project: http://cousinmusic.com/ and was very happy with the results.

Check out Alan Douches at West West Side Music in NJ. He does excellent work, and was even featured in TapeOP!

For what kind of music? If it's rock, check out Fred Kevorkian at http://www.absoluteaudio.com. Great work, super guy.

I just got a project back that was done by Greg Calbi at Sterling Sound. I was really pleased.

Have you by chance heard the ref? I doubt it.

I'm usually not turned on by the stuff that's been coming out of Sterling lately, but Calbi did a really nice job with this. The dynamics are still intact and it's not anywhere near being the loudest CD I own. It was the producer's choice to take it to him, not mine, and I'm pleasantly surprised.

You can see a list of about 60 Mastering Facilities in New York with links to their websites at: http://www.newyorkmusician.com. Everything there is absolutely free.

The engineer is as important as ther facility, maybe moreso. I'd recommend Roger Lian at Masterdisc, Tuck at Foothill Digitall, Mark christensen at Engine Room Audio, Greg Calbi at Sterling Sound. You can find all those people on that website. Newyorkmusician.com will also make recommendations if you go to their forum page and ask.

Hope this helps

Check out the mastering room at Play-it Productions.

for $100 per hour, you get a great, experienced mastering engineer, an excellent facility with top-notch gear, and a very high level of professionalism. a 4 hour block is usually sufficient to do an album.

call 212.695.6530 to check availability and book some time.
