Looking to intern/assist in seattle area

I've Been recording as a hobby for about 6 years now and am looking into getting into it more professionally. I have experience with reel to reels(otari mx 5050 1/2" 4 trk and tascam 38 8 trk) including matainence and calibration. I have worked with hard disk recording as well (alesis hd 24).
I guess my weak spot would be pro tools since I have not worked with it yet.
I am definitally not againts pro tools and am willing and able to learn it and other computer software based recording for that matter just havent had the need to personally.
Anyway, I absolutely love doing this stuff and look forward to interning/assisting in the recording industry.

When contacting studios what is the least annoying:
phone call?
email?
or just show up?
Seems like email would be to me, but that might make me look not as serious?

When contacting studios or anybody, email is the laziest way you can go about it. Email says "Hey, you can easily ignore this if you want to, just thought I'd clutter your Inbox."

You can't be passive in your search for a job, especially a studio job. Combining all the means is the only way to make it happen.
