I LOVE latin percussion!

Post by andrew embassy » Fri Nov 05, 2004 10:17 am

I figured you guys might like this. Just to show you how dark I mix, I did a -4 db pad on all the bass freqencies and it came out like this. Heh. Gotta figure out something to do to fix that habit.

Do Guam Now!

It's missing any kind of real ending, I'm thinking I'm going to fade it out, just because we've never done that before, but I may do other things. Anyway, hope you like it.

Anybody know where the vocal sample is from?

21st floor mens wear.

This would make awesome elevator music. Sounds good really feeling the vibe.

Are you kidding me I love elevator music. I guess I should have explained more. The begining sounds more like elevator music. It's usually something you can just relax and chill too. The Bells sound beautiful is that a marimba or vibraphone of some sort I really liked your peice don't get me wrong.

Yeah, it's a vibraphone. I love elevator music, too, so I was taking it as a compliment : )

Do you like Sergio Mendes? I LOVE his stuff. Seriously, latin syncopation is so tight!

Woaw at first I thought you wrote Sergio Macias who is a friend of mine in the town I live in, but no I can't say that I have listened to Sergio Mendes. I should look into it though. I'm an avid rock supportor, but I appreciate all music even country and rap but my collections consist of mainly hardcore screamo type stuff of Norma Jean, Zao to the tranquil sounds of Coldplay, Keane and The Medusas.

Nice one Andrew, be nice to hear a little more vibraphone in terms of playing and that it sounds a little quiet in the mix. Really nice though. A fade might be a nice idea, cuts off really suddenly, though that might be nice if you're thinking in terms of a record and you have something cool to follow it.

That's lovely. Got kind of a Cibo Matto vibe going on.
