Post by LuKuM » Tue Nov 23, 2004 7:53 am

hi all,

been a while since i posted my early xmas tune (www.xmyass.org - if your not getting in the festive spirit!)...

but in the meantime managed to get another tune done which i'd appreciate any feedback on.

http://www.lukesanderson.com/nothing_personal.mp3

using:

- tokai 335
- epiphone acoustic
- some electric acoustic bass
- alesis sr16 drum machine
- samson c02?! mic
- behringer small mixer
- near05 monitor speakers
- cooleditpro

tia!

I was listening with standard CD player headphones, but they have a little extra bass than a typical set. I liked this song and I liked the mix too. Your voice seems like a cross of Bob Dylan (but not as nasally) and Robert Smith. After awhile I thought the electric guitar was a bit annoying at least in my right ear, maybe a little less drive on it, but that's a minor quibble. I also think the song should end about 10, 15 seconds later, thought it was a bit too soon. Great job!

hi Phait,

thanks for listening, appreciate it!

its not overly bassey so maybe you got a 'ok' example :)

thats cool, i've had a few Dylan comments in the past... but not the Robery Smith - so thats a nice, one to work on!

could be, i've not recorded a lot of electric guitar stuff and with my shiny new v-amp thing i expect im a bit trigger happy ;-)

>I also think the song should end about 10, 15 seconds later,

make it longer! hahaha, brill...

thanks for the comments, i'll take a listen to some of your stuff when im back home an not on my folk's speakerless thing... lol.

cheerz,

Aw don't worry about my stuff, they're just shitty demos that don't even represent the upcoming album.
