Tom Waits cover heresy

Hi all,
Not only am I dead new here, but my first post is on dangerous grounds with Waits fans! What a start.

I love Waits' music to bits, so this is done with not an inconsiderable amount of affection and respect for the track. Rather than try and emulate
Waits' throat-shedding vocals over lazy horns, I've turned it into a fuzzy, synth-led piece of melancholia. It has less of the atmosphere of a drunk hobo arguing over the price of soup than a kind of neon-lit lost soul down on his luck. Heresy, perhaps, but very fun heresy to commit...

Thanks! Despite the outcry whenever someone covers of his songs (excluding a non-entity like me, haha), I can't think of a better artist to re-interpret, as he never stops experimenting himself...

Never could get into Waits however when I first read this thread title I thought "Oh my god.. Tom Waits covered Nine Inch Nails' 'Heresy'?!"

Trent admires Waits though...
