hahahaha, this rocks! how did you do the voice? vocoder? pretty neat... the lyrics are real funny, hehe
did you use any real drums, like on the chorus? or was it all drum machine? i like how it sounds. well made.

Re: ok try this
first let me clear this up: i cant take credit for 95% of the engineering. we got a real engineer for the project (mark edwards- mr. toads SF).
but anyway: orange vocoder on the verse.
all the instruments were played live. if you pay attention the tempo is all over the place (my drumming style).
the drums are a mixture of real mic'ed drums layered with triggered simmons and syndrum stuff, and some straight up hitting the simmons pads. we stuck a big PA in a big room along with the drums when we tracked them, and ran the electronic stuff thru that.

Would that be the Boss VT-1? I always wondered what it sounded like.eeldip wrote:orange vocoder on the verse.

Re: ok try this
no, not the boss, but the software vocoder called "Orange".
ive tried some boss vocoders and always had trouble with them.

I like it a lot! The back around synthesizers are great! Did you use a De Esser plug-in on any of the drums (possibly alittle compressiontoo?)? Keep us updated on more of your stuff!
late night recording sessions sound the best.
Re: ok try this
the drums are processed to fuck. plenty of compression. but no de essing.
Re: ok try this
I tried it.
I liked it.
My only complaint is the drums are sometimes too distorted for my taste, but it's a nice hoppin' little tune, reminds me of the good old Devo days.
