Dude, this would have made you all kinds of money in 1982!!!

I like the voice, too.

first let me clear this up: i cant take credit for 95% of the engineering. we got a real engineer for the project (mark edwards- mr. toads SF).

but anyway: orange vocoder on the verse.

all the instruments were played live. if you pay attention the tempo is all over the place (my drumming style).

the drums are a mixture of real mic'ed drums layered with triggered simmons and syndrum stuff, and some straight up hitting the simmons pads. we stuck a big PA in a big room along with the drums when we tracked them, and ran the electronic stuff thru that.

Would that be the Boss VT-1? I always wondered what it sounded like.

no, not the boss, but the software vocoder called "Orange".

ive tried some boss vocoders and always had trouble with them.

I like it a lot! The back around synthesizers are great! Did you use a De Esser plug-in on any of the drums (possibly alittle compressiontoo?)? Keep us updated on more of your stuff!
late night recording sessions sound the best.

I tried it.
I liked it.
My only complaint is the drums are sometimes too distorted for my taste, but it's a nice hoppin' little tune, reminds me of the good old Devo days.
