critiques encouraged --new mid-fi music from a dead cat

Post by adeadcat » Fri Jan 16, 2004 5:57 pm

I went down to palm springs to record some songs in my friend sean's bedroom. We recorded 7 songs in 3 days (much of which time we spent shopping at thrift stores). Every aspect of the "session" was half-assed, but we think the results are pretty good. Four songs can be heard at

our soundclick.com page .

Critiques are welcomed, particularly in the area of mixing. It's not really feasible to re-record anything (except drums and bass, but that would mean more work for sean), and i can't rewrite the songs, but if you think there are any tracks that need to be quieter or louder we can look into changing them.

Mostly i just want some feedback about how it sounds, because having taken part in the music its really hard to listen objectively.
