Dolphin fins move differently than shark fins. They sort of bob in and out of the water as their motion dictates. When sharks do remain near the surface, their fins generally stay visible and level.

Hey Maz, ever see any barracuda in the water in Miami?

I don't remember... and it's something I probably would remember! I know that it was in Biscayne Bay that I saw the Dolphins. What I was doing trying to waterski in Biscayne Bay I have no idea.

Man, all this water talk is making me miss the coast!!!

LOL-
what I love about that link is that the second shot is only "a few frames later" but the surfer is nowhere to be found!

I guess he didn't want to find out what it was either!!!

Whenever you get in the water there are sharks nearby. They don't really have any beef with us, unless we happen to look like a sea lion or one of their prey.

There's a video online where a surfer gets hit by 2 Great Whites in tandem while riding a wave.

i have always been fascinated by sharks. i have been fortunate to have been in the water with them and have found that when I am down under the surface with them there are no worries, and it is really amazing. You just want to follow them, or get closer.

However, a few times I have been left on the surface treading water for nearly an hour and that FREAKS me out. Just waiting to get attacked.

I was in the Indian ocean off of africa and the dive boat left me to drop off some other divers (I told them to come back for me bc I get sea sick and didn't want to get in the boat, and i wanted to feel what it was like to be left in the open water with no land/boats around - one of my great fears/fascinations). The water was so clear and it just made me feel so vulnerable. But an hour later I was down in the deeps with them and was fine.
