it's easy to find shitty examples of anything, that doesn't make the entire past, present, and future of the genre an inherently bad thing. you can't prove to a rock lover that rock 'n roll is just a shit-laden field of non-talent by shoving puddle of mudd or kiss or a local rock-emulating angus young loving azn krew in their face... 'ya know? they'd easily look past that. for that matter, it pays to be open-minded.

These kinds of guys were all over the place while I was in Junior High. They probably are real gangsters and they probably do spend a lot of time fucking people up. I think when I was in junior high the demographic was something like this: 10-15% already a gangster or practicing gangster-in-training via older siblings 25% wanna-be gangster who would probably end up being one eventually 45% sub-wanna-be gangster who wouldn't cop to wanting to be one but still has a 'street name', a tag and sucked up to the real and wanna be gangsters. many kids in this section would go on to med school / law school / taco bell 10% cowboys / cowgirls 1% geeks 1% metalheads 2% misc 0% punk rock kids 0% goths. Everyone co-mingled. Ahh Salinas, California in the late 80s / early 90s.

I think there are way more goth / metalhead / punk rock kids out and about there these days.
