Help me choose 12 albums...

Post by mjau » Wed Jun 09, 2004 10:17 am

I'm going away for a month to Sweden, where I'll be getting married to a nice Swedish girl named Anna. Afterwards, we are taking two weeks on our own to just drive around and camp in Norway and Sweden, so it affords me a lot of time to just listen to music in the beauty and solitude of northern Scandinavia. I'm trying to pack really lightly, which means that I'm only bringing a 12 disc cd holder.
So...just curious, but if it was you, which 12 albums would you bring with you for a month abroad? My tastes are pretty eclectic, and between my fiancee and I, we have probably a thousand or more cd's, so it's likely you may choose something I've already got and give me some good ideas.
As of now, the only ones I'm pretty sure I'll bring are...
Beach Boys - Pet Sounds
Beastie Boys - Check Your Head
Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's

Saturday Night Hay Fever. All your disco favorites in an annoying bluegrass vein. Bee Gees and banjos forever!

an ipod and a charger that will work in sweeden.

I went away to do a record for five months and I *had* to bring some 200 CDs with me, just in case.

Then came the Ipod and I can carry an endless supply of my favorites with me everywhere!

check out the swedish music scene... specifically Petter. He's hilarous.

And remember, Swedes hate norwegians. Just ask them. heh.

Lycka till!

yeah. buy an iPod. There's no way 12 albums will cut it.

But if it's your honeymoon of sorts, I'd recommend Maxwell's Embrya. It's like a freakin' mating call.

ratatat - s/t
dinosaur jr - hand it over
pretty girls make graves - good health
john vanderslice - cellar door

i'll think of some more later maybe
