My favorite SY stuff is all (mostly) on "Screaming Fields of Sonic Love", being a reissue of all their formerly vinyl-only early releases.

With that in mind, the concept of them on Conan is almost beyond irony.

Saw them a couple of years ago, and they are really tight live band in a way that they weren't as pups, so I guess it makes sense.

Still.

Oops. Sorry, wrong post.

I like Sonic Youth. They are a great group of guys. Plus they've got that chick.

I saw it they played the same song they played on Leno, only slightly differently, it seemed. Maybe I'll have to actually buy this album because I kind of liked the song.

Yeah I liked the older Sonic Youth stuff better too.

I thought it was pretty good too. Thurston and Kim were as tall as Conan, usually he towers over the bands.

I don't think it was a rerun because Conan talked about Kerry and Edwards being toghether.

Gah! I missed it. I knew I was forgetting something.

I'm hoping to see them on the 28th in Minneapolis, I've missed them twice now since '98. They don't come around here much.

Tell you what, I got the "Dirty" re-issue and cranked it on a late night run to St. Louis last week. That record is really, really, good.

I know I'm supposed to like Evol the best, but man Dirty is just the shit.

You are SO wrong. "Sister" is the record that you are supposed to like the best. THEN Evol, k? ;)

I always liked that record the best..

Since I got the "corporate ghost" dvd I'm really starting to like goo again. Of course when asked, my favorite sonic youth is usually the one in my cd player.

Anything except "bad moon rising" I hate that one with a passion.
