Brujeria
Brujeria
Anybody listen to this band? They just got a writeup in La Opinion today that sorta got me curious. Apparently it's just very very hard Spanish language death metal. And all the members use fake names and cover their faces when they play. Here are some band pics. They're playing tonight in LA, and frankly the more I think about it the more I think I might go...

You should definitely go to the show! i'd love to see brujeria!, fucking awesome band. Death metal with hella hooks, their songs stick like glue. My favorite songs are the goofy drum machine, techno, dance songs.

Re: Brujeria
Some of the scuttlebutt I have heard is that their bass player is Billy Gould. He used to play with Faith No More and it was his "side project". All rumor and hearsay but what the hell.

Re: Brujeria
Brujeria has been around for like a hundred years. I used to know every famous band all of them belonged to (that's why they wear the masks) but I've since forgotten. I am, however, pretty certain that Billy Gould was/is in the band.

Do they still put autopsy/death scene photos on all their record sleeves?

One night many years ago on tour we were crashed on someone's floor. Everyone was fast asleep and the person's CD changer had been left on when everyone went to bed. For some reason it had been silent for a long time, so we didn't think about turning it off. I guess maybe the changer wasn't full. Anyway, all of a sudden at like 3 am we're all scared awake by a full-blast "LA MIGRA! LA MIGRA!" I think we all peed our sleeping bags just a little bit.
I was told there was a Sepultura member or two in there as well.

Billy ins't in the band anymore, the guy from Napalm Death is now playing bass, one guy from fear factory is in there and Brujo and Pete live down the street. In fact Pete used to be a waiter at an Italian restaurant down the block things change....
There's a cool quicktime movie on their web page that has Hank III introducing them..

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it's Dino from FF that's playing with those guys.
