The Edge... there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who really know where it is are the ones who have gone over.

Re: spread this!
This reminds me of a little song I made up, long before this thread was started, about a natural foods company gone belly up.
"Which side Erewhon?
Which side Erewhon?
Will it be chunky or will it be creamy?
Which side Erewhon?"

Re: spread this!
Actually I like the skippy stuff, chunky is best.
Once I got a little rock in chunky, though, that was terrible. Safeway brand, I think, which is a skippy knockoff.
The real thing is awesome too, depends on what state my sweet tooth's in. Peanut butter + roman meal, just an A+.

Re: spread this!
It's got to be chunky. But only the natural stuff. No sugar, no oil... like peanut butter doesn't have enough of its own oil?
Fuck jelly. Real fruit is the way to go. You can stick grapes into the PB, or apple slices with some chopped ginger is good. Mmm.

you chunky eaters make me sick!
Chunky peanut butter is unamerican! Why don't you just go ahead and start raping kittens you commie terrorists! Anyone who eats chunky should be gathered up and put on a boat to Cuba.

Re: spread this!
There seems to be a lot of debate on the creamy vs. chunky issue here, so i decided to set up two sandwiches and A/B them.
Overall, the creamy had a nice rounded tone, with rich midrange and smooth transients. The chunky seemed to have more of a hyped high end, but was a bit harsh on the roof of my mouth. Overall I'd rather use the creamy in most standard applications although the chunky might be good for special situations where you need more "texture".
($1.29 MSRP)

Re: spread this!
Let me start by saying I had never heard of Peter Pan Peanut butter until 5 minutes ago. Isn't it just amazing what you can find on the internets?
You can buy it here:
http://www.hometownfavorites.com/shop/c ... =678&newp=
Or at safeway:
http://products.peapod.com/549.html
The evil conglomerate:
http://www.conagrafoods.com/brands/peter_pan.jsp
The story:
'One of the first companies to adopt this new process was Swift & Company for its E.K. Pond peanut butter ~ renamed Peter Pan in 1928. In 1932, Rosefield had a dispute with Peter Pan and began producing peanut butter under the Skippy label the following year. Rosefield created the first crunchy style peanut butter two years later by adding chopped peanuts into creamy peanut butter at the end of the manufacturing process.'
