Re: Brave New World, 1984 or Brazil (the movie)
Dude, what about Videodrome!?!
It seems all of them got certain aspects of today's world right...
1984 got the lack of privacy and media control pretty decent, and I'd venture to say a type of "newspeak" has entered our language with computer terminology and jargon (IMHO...LOL!) Rupert Murdoc is pretty close to being like Big Brother. Or maybe Bill Gates is a better choice.
Brazil was right about administration and paperwork getting out of control.
But Brave New World has the most similarities to our modern world. Everyone has their perscription medications to fight off the blues, babies are practically being born in labs with advances in genetics, and virtual reality is getting pretty close to "feelies". There is a certain sterility to aspects of our world, but it's no Utopia. The biggest difference is that everyone is taken care of in Utopia and there isn't any crime.

I'd say Krull.
But Shabbadoo had good points on all three.

I'd say the original Rollerball - corporations have taken over in place of countries.

a fine choice. I love that movie.

Well I wouldn't say BNW or 1984 (though 1984... that's a tough one)... though I don't recall exactly what the deal with Brazil was. Kind of 1984-ish, right?
How about 'the Corporation', which you should have all seen by now. Do documentaries about current affairs count?

I'd say "Biodome" with Pauly Shore is where we're at.
I am wangtacular.

Well, Robert DeNiro did fix my air conditioning last week, so I'm gonna have to go with Brazil. In fact I'm thinking about going to Brazil. I want to have sex with teenagers again.

The Edge... there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who really know where it is are the ones who have gone over.
