A Living Castratum?

Post by greatmagnet » Tue Sep 21, 2004 2:06 pm

A good friend of mine met this guy at Karaoke and got his web address. A VERY strange fellow but at least he's at peace with the fact that he is a complete fucking freak.

http://aeroventure.com/My_Song_Bios/My- ... s-Page.htm

Nonetheless you will CRACK THE FUCK UP hen you hear his songs. No, really. Make sure you go first to the link that says "My Song Story", and then hit the link a little bit further down that says "Explanation of my speaking voice and sample voice clips". There you can read a more brief explanation of his particular physiological eccentricity and subsequent neuroses, and also listen to the samples of his normal, "private" speaking voice versus his "social" voice. Then, check out the "New Songs" link. Oh my god...I was rolling.

He claims that this stuff is not sung in falsetto but it's really hard to believe. It's hard to believe the whole thing's not a hoax but my friend has met him and heard him sing in public.

Y'all should check out the Klaus Nomi version of "The Twist."

Too bad ampguy doesn't have light equipment so he could hook up with this guy. That would be awesome.

Don't stop till you've heard his interpretation of Lights.[/i]

So maybe I'm just not tuned into hearing the male voice at that range...but I suspect one reason he can't get a chorus gig is he doesn't sound too accomplished. Not that I could carry a tune in a bucket...

and "Lights" was something special...thank you!
I thought this club was for musicians. Who let the drummer in here??

It just sounds like a falsetto to me, and a pitchy one at that.

So, my girlfriend's dog was sleeping right next to me when I played the Banner, and as soon as the dood's voice came in, she started doing that dog-head-tilt-of-confusion thing.

Hilarious.

I'm sure there are other great songs, but "Crazy on You" is unbelievable. What a looney tune!!

Understatement of the year. I also am not completely convinced that it's not a falsetto, even after hearing his "private" speaking voice. He's so bad I might imagine that he doesn't really know the difference between falsetto and regular singing. I know far better singers than he that don't quite get that concept.

One thing's for sure...he is FUCKING NUTS.
