The United States of Canada

Post by TrumpsHair » Wed Nov 03, 2004 12:28 pm

There is currently a serious debate going on, concerning secession. (withdrawal)
We can just call this place, Jesusland - and be done with it.
Canada: think of it:
*sane gun policy
*universal health care
*common language
*shared history
*excellent schools
*fastest growing economy in the world
*genuine democracy
*tolerance of opposing ideas
*respect for personal spirituality

And wonderful, decent people.

*sane gun policy And a recent horrific increase in gun violence due to the "sane" gun policy recently put into effect.
*universal health care 6 month wait for a heart scan
*common language What, "Fringlish?"

Okay, I'll stop now before I get carried away...

He's right-- I've been shot (in a horrific manner, in fact) several times this morning, and I can't even get medical attention what with the line-ups and those crazy French "docteurs" I don't understand. What a hell-hole.

Here's your gift Chimpy:
Careful what you wish for, you might get it. Mr. Bush wanted a second term; he got it, and now comes the more difficult part. Governing.

This isn't the good old days when Rush L. was the only big voice on AM radio. Be aware Mr. Bush that stations are increasing on Air America.

It's all well and good to win on Guns and Gays, but be aware that the Democrats have Stem Cell Research and Minimum Wage/Health Care trade off initiatives in their pockets.

It's fine to run the table on fear, but when another year goes by and you still haven't located Osama Bin Laden, be aware that Americans really aren't very patient people.

Crony-capitalism is nothing new in this country. Be aware that further investigations into Halliburton, and the antics of major insurance companies (in addition to Lay and Skilling) could let the Democrats become the party of "Clean Government."

It's certainly nicer to be running on Science, Progress, and Clean Government, than on "guns and gays."

The Iraqis will have elections. Then to legitimize themselves we'll have to leave. Much more attention will have to be paid to the exit strategy! Too soon and the chaos will be on the Bush doorstep, too late and the chaos will be on the Bush doorstep.

Leaks and Releases: What will the CIA report say about 9/11? What will come from the efforts to find out what happened on the Energy Task Force? Who outed Valerie Plame?

Dissaffected paleo-cons who were "given permission" by the Kerry campaign to ask what the Bush Administration did with all the money aren't going away. Remember, economic expansions have a limited life span, the Bush expansion has been shallow, watch for potholes.

Environmental groups, previously separated by interests and issues, have now formed coalitions. The ones that might have refragmented in a Kerry Administration will in all likelihood stay together during a Bush second term.

Kitty Kelly's book will be out in paperback.

A Stem Cell Research initiative passed in California. A proposal to increase the minimum wage/health care provision trade off passed in Nevada. Watch for progressives to put their own initiatives on the 2006 ballots. "Science, Progress, and Clean Government" can be a fairly easy sell.

Good luck, Smirky. Wake me up in 2008

Too late.

Seriously - where are YOU getting YOUR sources, cuz mine don't jive.

There is only a wait for elective or non-critical procedures (averaging about 12 weeks - can anyone get faster service with their HMO?), Canada speaks english while there is a movement to preserve the french language (understandable - and probably a good thing since it gets more people to be multi-lingual).

I bet most americans would wait 12 weeks for elective, non-critical procedures if they knew it was covered. There is NO wait in Canada for anyone in critical, immediate need and all of it is covered under their universal health care.

As for the 'horrific increase in gun voilence' - where are you reading this? Seems like it would take quite a bit to catch up to the U.S. given these statistics...

America... just a nation of two hundred million used car salesmen with all the money we need to buy guns and no qualms about killing anybody else in the world who tries to make us uncomfortable.

Sweet. there IS a michael moore movie you guys don't like.

Maybe french canadian seperatists can have their chance to take off in their own direction too, now that northeast seaboard and the west coast are taking off. Keep on dehumanizing your fellow Americans if it makes you feel better.
*tolerance of opposing ideas
Who's threatening to leave because everybody else is an idiotic uneducated fool? I bet you folks spit on your hands after youth soccer and little league baseball games too. But you know what, everybody behind you on your team ends up with your spit on their hands too.
