snow in houston

Post by wing » Sat Dec 25, 2004 12:51 am

this is a big deal, folks. it never happens. i think the last time it truly snowed in houston i was a toddler, and it was like 1986. so anyway, i was out driving this christmas eve, and roof tops were a pure white, grass was totally covered, cars, everything... it was truly beautiful to those of us who never ever see it. i could see people dancing on the side of the road even. and as we went outside, you could feel the flakes hitting you, and walk on the grass like it was a cloud... of course, to you guys up north this is the same old thing, but to us it was a perfect way to welcome christmas.

ulrich schnauss was a great soundtrack to this too. i really like his last record.

ah, life is wonderful. Merry Christmas everyone.

We're finally getting a little dusting here... Freakin' cold, though... Well, it's 12 or something - That's a lot warmer than yesterday.

Happy happy...

I feel you wing. It snows here in my part of southern california maybe once a year, but it never covers the ground or stays more than 1/2 hour. On thanksgiving we got (a record breaking) 10 inches! Again, I know the rest of the country is used to this strange phenomenon, but that has never happened where I live. Gnarly.
