Messageboards

Post by Fieryjack » Wed Jan 05, 2005 6:47 pm

Obviously everyone here is into the audio thing and visits this messageboard (and others that are audio related) but I'd be curious to see what other boards people visit on a regular basis (and what other hobbies/interests we all have besides audio).

Something else I'm into is woodworking, and I visit www.woodnet.net.

I used to race Mountain bikes.

That's about it.

I am pretty much all about tapeop and creot. I dont think I have ever posted on another board unless I was hijacking it.

But...
I am myspace/livejournal dork, so I guess that has to count for something.

I'm a big fan of the "band" Idaho, so I post quite a bit on the idahomusic.com messageboard. That's about it. I've joined a shitload of communities on Orkut, but it's pretty much a ghost town over there.

My main obsession besides music/recording is bicycling. If anyone knows any good fixed gear messageboards, let me know.

I used to spend all my time on www.lebowskifest.com forum. If anyone's a "Big Lebowski" fan, I highly suggest you check that site out.

Well

Here
ThrowingMusic.com board
the 4AD board (where I like to cause trouble)

I also go to velvetrope.com almost hourly. Does anyone else use this site? It's great for gossip, but there are so so so so so so so so so many people on there that have to act like bigshots in the music industry. That gets old.

Hey, is Idaho the band that plays 4-string guitars?? I think my old band played a gig with them in LA years ago (Dreamland in Silverlake, I think). The band I saw was really good. I guess I could just go to the site and find out--

Sometimes I go to a Ford truck forum, as I'm hoping to buy a new one this year.

Yes. That's the one. It's pretty much just Jeff Martin's project now. I got to play with them too a few years go. I'm going to be on a comp with them that will be out one of these days.

My main instrument is pedal steel, and I visit this site.
http://steelguitarforum.com/

BTW, The average pedal steel player is 54 years old, white, and at least 40 pounds overweight. (Not me, though)

There is also a lap steel section.
