LP of your life.

Post by DUC » Thu Aug 07, 2003 8:51 pm

What record sums up your life the best or is closest to you on a personal level?

Depends...

The disc I just finished, Glorified Demos is the closest to me, as I wrote it, and it's introspective and in a way cathartic.

If you meant "What album by someone other than you sums up your life or is closest to you on a personal level?", then either To Our Children's Children's Children by the Moody Blues or R.E.M.'s Automatic for the People. Something about both of them - I could listen to them forever.

Idaho - Levitate

I think I relate to Jeff Martin's stuff so much because he is such a perfectionist, but he also knows when to accept the happy accidents. Lyrically, he's really good at painting a picture without spelling every detail out for you. This is the one thing I can put on that seems to match my mood no matter what mood I'm in.

The Feelies - Crazy Rhythms

It makes me be more Phil when I listen to this album. Sometimes I forget to be me. You should hear this album, it will bring out your inner Phil.

Feelies are awesome. If you did not know people think that Weezer got the idea for the album cover with the plain background from crazy rythms. also if you did not know they used to be the house band for Maxwells in Hoboken, NJ for a while..crazy rythms has great production value as well..

i don't think i have an lp of my life since i can't uderstand myself as it is.

To answer my own topic, I'd have to say The Wipers, Is This Real?. This album knows me too well.

Weezer only stole the album cover? Hell, I thought they stole the whole concept.

I would give my left one to have seen the Feelies at Maxwell's back in the day. Anyone know how to make this happen?

Have you seen Something Wild with Melanie Griffiths and Jeff Daniels? It's not bad. The Feelies are in it, playing the high school reunion band. They cover Bowie's "Fame". Directed by Jonathan Demme, who was a fan.
