Yeah, we watched that last night, really nice film, good watching. Eternal sunshine's good too. The man who wasn't there's a favourite. What else? Scarface obviously, er.. bugger, can't think...

If you like disturbing artsy films, Begotten is great.

This is a cool video too

I saw "I, Robot" last might. I didn't watch it for a long time because I really dislike Will Smith, but I love the 'robot taking over the world' plot so much that I had to see it, and I liked it for the most part.

That's enough of the plot for me to know that Isaac Asimov just turned in his grave.

I wonder if they actually read any of the book they bought the name to? Methinks they just bought the name for it's coolness.

City of God
Hero
Elling
Garden State
Hedwig and the Angry Inch
Titus
Supersize Me
Coffee and Cigarettes
Ridicule
Gothic (older, but very interesting...!)
Usual Suspects
America... just a nation of two hundred million used car salesmen with all the money we need to buy guns and no qualms about killing anybody else in the world who tries to make us uncomfortable.

If you like Bill Murray, "The Man Who Knew Too Little" was really funny.

Garden State was pretty darn good.

Friday Night Lights
Collateral (surprisingly)
Harold and Kumar go to white castle :)
Swingers (it's been too long and you know it)
Ray
Tom Dowd and the Language of Music
I am trying to break your heart
Big Fish
Anchorman is very funny.

city of god is...disturbing. in a good way.

city of the lost children. if you missed it, even better. get the subtitled one.

happy accidents. marissa tomei is awesome.

btw - saw stealing beauty again for the first time in years. MAN does that suck. it's pointless!

Being There

Little Big Man (one of the best movies EVER)

BottleRocket

Dawn of the Dead (original or remake)

Shaun of the Dead

Eternal Sunshine (best of 2004)

Holy Mountain - totally mind-bending

anything by Cronenberg - Dead Ringers, Existenz, Videodrome, Naked Lunch, etc.

The Black Hole

Billy Jack - ugliest wife ever award, plus hippy improv skits and shoeless kung-fu

Putney Swope - freaky funk surrealism

Donnie Darko

anything with Veronica Lake in it

The Red Shoes - amazing visual design classic

Fantastic Planet - kickass soundtrack to this weird cartoon

Zardoz - Sean Connery scifi diaper topless chick floating stone head god flick

Psychomania - the suicide montage is totally worth it

John Waters - Female Trouble, Polyester, Pink Flamingos if you are masochistic

Barton Fink

Westworld

I saw The Station Agent the other night - it was okay, but fell far short (sorry) of the hype surrounding it. I have come to the conclusion that the recipe for indie film success is to put 3 quirky characters together and make them do a whole lot of nothing. There are some great films that follow this formula, but this movie is way underwhelming.

And to chime in about crappy stuff that's surprisingly entertaining, Scary Movie 3 had me laughing quite a bit.
