Whew! Its not just me. I can't figure out what energy or planetary power has caused this, but its got its grip on a lot of people I think. I just keep thinkin ahead to spring and how damn good its gonna feel to sit outside at night with a cold one, a smoke, and watch the earth actually live again. I hate winters.

exactly,
i think this is all because of the shitty winter weather. i get like this every year and this is the worst part because we've been into winter for so long.

This particular administration feels as though "it" has a mind of it's own. Not really much of that "for the people, by the people"...whatever it's supposed to be.
But somebody out there voted him in, so they must be the ones that are getting everything they want from him right now.

The rest of us are experiencing this overwhelming craptastic feeling.

I really have to wonder if the other half that voted in Bush really felt this shitty throughout the 90's?

Fuck it. You just gotta stay with the music.
I always had this theory that we needed (well, not need...but if one were to happen) some kind of war going on so that music would have something to say again...or some kind of new music "wave" would occur and a new dawn of music would be upon us.

nope

Sorry about the stream of consciousness post...

if you're really feeling hopeless, lost, and broken, i'd reccommend "A Return to Love" by Marianne Williamson.

if you're just feeling down and sullen, i'd reccommend some western+budhist combo philosophy. after all, it's only life... think about the small things you have to be happy about and thankful for. think about how small you really are. be mindful of your moods and how you can simply tell your mind--no, i will not feel sorry for myself right now. i will not stew in negativity and self doubt. choose a mantra of some sort and try to meditate on it.

things get better.

That stuff isn't good for you. It's pretty much been panned by the research.

Yeah, I feel like flipping the fuck out. I'm exhausted. New baby, too much freelance work coming in -- enough that I can't manage it all and I'm slipping behind on everything. Clients unhappy. Not enough sleep, working late into the night. Can't get any work done during the day. To top it all off, my wife and kids went to the beach for a few days with my in-laws so I could get some serious work done (good), but I get stuck dogsitting their incredibly annoying (tm) rat dogs.

Oh, and I have a bunch of new recording gear I've not been able to use because I'm always WORKING.

At least band practice went well tonight.

Back to work for me. Still another hour or so to go tonight.

I fear it's going to be a rough next few years - Iraq is only going to get worse, the economy will continue to get worse, etc. Bush's supporters are going to be shifting gradually from denial into anger, and some violence in the process wouldn't surprise me.

This crap is everywhere. I didn't get a promotion I was going for and it bummed me out way more than I thought it would. Mainly a money thing, I would've been sittin' pretty with the extra dough, could've quit the part-time job and had a lot more time to relax PLUS catch up on debts.....but that didn't happen. Then to top it all off, my band broke up last weekend, just when I thought everyone was pretty happy and things were starting to run smoothly. Oh well, back to the drawing board.....again.

a-fucking-men. i feel like i could put down about 1000 words on that right now, but i'd just be reiterating what you said and preaching to the choir anyway. but yeah man, it's not just you.

sorry to hear so many are bummin'. normally this time of year i am deep in my Winter Depression, but this year i'm not for some reason. probably because i actually have a cool lady around for a change and since new years i've had a bunch of cool recording projects going on, so all that is keeping me stupid busy and likely keeping me from dwelling too much on everything that completely sucks in the world right now. which maybe makes me totally self centered and/or means i've buried my head in the sand but whatever. given what JASIII said above, i feel like all i wanna do is stay the fuck home and make art.

anyway, cheers everybody. spring's coming.
