i liked him on the debate, smart guy, good ideas, but absolutely no charisma. he'll never make it.

Yeah, isn't that fucking sad. The guy is cutting through all the bullshit of the last 3 years but in the end it's not going to matter. The majority of American voters get their information from CNN and their local paper which do nothing but glamorize the candidate with the biggest personality.

What is enraging is that noone bats an eye at the obvious. G W Bush stole the election, had previous knowledge of 9.11 but did nothing about it, and then used false intelligence information to wage war on Afganistan and Iraq just to further the oil business. Anyone who thinks otherwise hasn't done the research and thinks that the good ol' red white and blue is the protector of the planet when in fact WE ARE THE WORLD'S LARGEST TERROR ORGANIZATION.

Sorry to go off, but I'm so sick of the current situation and 80% of this country's blind faith in our government.

I'm in the same camp as formzero.

I recommend finding out where you really stand before jumping on the Kucinich collectivism train:

www.lp.org/quiz

Kucinich is selling the same old wealth redistribution scheme without the slick willie wrapper. I give the guy credit for not being ashamed of what he really is.

Take the quiz and discover something about yourself. You'll find some of the questions intriguing enough to investigate rather than just responding to them.

Sorry if I came across abrasive - but I don't see anything I wrote that isn't true.
I merely used reason to sum up his platform.

If you read the vision on his opening page he's all for the economic intervention of government to take from those by their means and give it to those according to whatever they consider their needs.

1- guaranteed health care for all will kill the innovations in health care that we enjoy now as a result of the profit incentive.
2- social security is barely more than a bookeeping trick. If the government were forced to play by the same rules the rest of the stock market, there wouldn't be any time to chase Martha Stewart
3-NAFTA and the WTO are bad for different reasons - any free trade agreement longer than a page "isn't"
4-our economy hasn't added a manufacturing job since the 50's - the industrial age is over. If you want manufacturing jobs to come back and save family farms: convince the public that they need to pay $50k for a Vega and $20 for a head of lettuce.
5-every Repulican and Democrat claims to be on the side of privacy until they want to know what books you read or whether or not you own a gun.

As a libertarian - I'm not opposed to the voluntary practice of any of the Kucinich platform. If you want to be a socialist: "cool".
Just don't make - me - live like one.

History shows that these kinds of ideas are always followed by government force to make them happen.

Yeah, I like that quiz. I've taken it before. Left-Liberal all the way. My only problem is with the wording of the questions, i.e. "Government should not control radio, TV, the press or the Internet." Considering a Libertarian wrote that, am I supposed to take that at face value or translate it into a less biased question? Is the question about regulation or control?

I like that we're talking about politics. Earlier we talked about religion. I guess we're unafraid.

hmm. i think that has to do with where a lot of peoples minds are these days. indeed, the questions might seem biased, but i take it at face value. because in fact, regulation is control.

reg?u?la?tion
1.The act of regulating or the state of being regulated.

2.A principle, rule, or law designed to control or govern conduct.

3.A governmental order having the force of law. Also called executive order.

I like that we're talking politics and this hasn't already degenerated into a "nanny nanny nanner" screaming match.

Unafraid and rational...

There is hope

ps. zero makes a good point about the questions, they were probably written with the middle of the road in mind. that's why I said they'd be intriguing. the first time I read "minimum wage laws cause unemployment", I investigated the validity of that claim, rather than just react.

I see some shades of grey between regulation and control. Despite what the dictionary says, control implies ownership, regulation does not. I can see being against both control and regulation, I can see being for one but not the other, I can see being for both, but the quiz suggests that no one should see the difference between the two, which I think is silly, because (obviously) some people do.

Again, it really is a great quiz, and, as a guy who teaches U.S. Government, something I have used in the classroom to clear up any confusion. I want to make sure none of the kids are just towing their daddy's party line.

Hey, thanks for not voting, guys. It's good to know that some people don't give a shit. I couldn't tell by the general jacked up nature of things.
